Right directional/parking light problem '93 850

Hi. The right front directional works, but when the headlights are turned on, the right side parking lights do not come on and I get a bulb error message. This is a one-bulb assembly; both functions go through the same bulb. Tried changing the bulb for the heck of it, but no difference. I'm guessing it's a wiring issue? Nothing obvious to see. Any easy answers? Thanks very much. P.S. In a past thread, someone explained how easy it was to change out the directional light cover (and the bulb!), by opening the hood and releasing the spring. Another case of something that seems so intimidating being so easy. Thanks so much. Only thing is that, when putting everything back in, the spring doesn't really seem to hook tightly. Looks the same as the other side, so hoping everything will stay in place!
