torque converter question 850 1994

ok i am replacing an auto tranny on a 94 850. i took it off no problem, when i go to put the torque converter back in with the tranny off the motor, the back of the converter rubs on the front of the tranny(around the front tranaxle seal. my question is once you put the tranny back on the motor will it pull the converter away from the tranny enough to get rid of the rubbing?
also it is the same for both the good used tranny going in and the old one coming out
