Is my water pump bad? S70 1999

Jiffy Lube doesn't know a thing. If it were your water pump not working then your temp. would be way high. I suspect the thermostat is stuck open. When you went over the railroad tracks, it jiggled it enough to close so the temp went up like it's suppose to. The thermostat is an easy replacement. Buy the 87degree one from fcpgroton.com and follow the procedure here: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/tstat.php
