Gen/battery light 850 1996

I just recently replaced my 97 850 (normally aspirated) with a 96 854 Wagon. (The 97 was totalled in a recent crash, I walked away without a scratch!).

I have noticed with the wagon that when I cut the ignition off, the generator light stays on for a couple of seconds, then it winks off. It kinda makes a weird noise too, like a sour raspberry (when the light is on).

The car starts fine, has a new Volvo battery. Any ideas?
