Oil Milkshake V70-XC70 1998

Well, ho ho ho! Hope everyone's having a great holiday. As for us, Santa brought a crankcase oil milkshake on Christmas Eve! Foam all the way to the top of the dipstick... nice! Can you guys give me the options I have for diagnosis/repair as well as $$$? I'm hoping it's just the head gasket and not a cracked block. Our V70 has ~90K miles and is spending its first "real" winter in CT after many happy, warm days in SoCal. Do you think this is weather/oil grade related? Car isn't overheating and has a new radiator. It's been down about a quart every oil change and I suspect we may need to go .030 over on the cylinders. Any help/suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.
