A sad day for my V70 (long)... V70-XC70 1998

Insurance companies don't fix fire damage, unless it is really minor, which yours isn't.
I agree with your suspicion that the insurance company will try to lowball you. They will probably start with trade-in value and try to work down from there. The problem is, you can't replace your car for it's trade-in value.

The only time I have seen an insurance company be generous is when there is a potential for personal injury liability, and they want you to sign off quickly, before you get lawyers involved.
