Cleaning old oil out of oil pan

RE: a 1993 850GLT, I'm replacing the 4 o-rings on the bottom of the engine. The idea is to also clean out the oil pan as best as possible. It would be nice if the baffles could be removed - it's difficult to clean the pan out well. The question of course is, how clean should you get the inside of the pan? The motor oil has baked onto the alloy pan and left that brownish discoloration. The only thing that will touch that is lacquer thinner I just found out. Mineral spirits doesn't do much and I don't have a "parts cleaning station"... It would be nice to get this crud/film off but it's not going anywhere I suppose... Any ideas??
