Mnn, yes I did have platinum plugs (Champion I think)... but I installed them along with a new wire set about 7000 miles before the exhaust value blew, so I don't know if that was it. I can't recall if I bought the plugs at the dealer or at Kragen.

The car did have over 300k miles on it but still the mechanic said he'd never seen that happen on a Volvo!
