Spark plugs

Klaus,
I'm really glad you're trying to explore engine/valve failure resulting from the plat. spark plugs. This should really be a whole new topic, maybe even a survey. When I bought my car, a T5, I was actually a bit perturbed that the guy I bought it from had maintained it with copper plugs...thought it should have had platinum's. Since he had just changed the plugs right before I bought the car, I didn't change them. I'm now 20K miles after that and still haven't changed them and have had no issue. I do know however that with a HP-turbo, I'll need to change copper's sooner than plat's, but after seeing the trend of plat's possibly blowing out valves, I'm sure glad I've been running coppers. Good luck in the data collection.
