VIBRATION S40-V40

Hi Guys
My daughter's 00 S40 has now 48,500. Last time I drove the car I noticed an increase on vibration/rattling after you start the car, when stopping for a red light with transmission in Drive, primarily when the car is still cold. The vibration disappears if I put the transmission in Neutral while cold and also tends to fade away as the car warms up. Could it be anything related to the exhaust system? Everything is still original there. Or am I need of motor mounts?
By the way the suspension feels a little stiffer. The car has been driven mainly on local roads, not in prestine condition. Sohuld I be looking for some
shock/strut replacement soon?
Tks for yr input.
