Dash cluster Info Display V70-XC70

This may rank as the dumbest question of the new year but is it possible to bring up the mpg, avg mpg, etc digital displays where the time of day/temp now appear, by simply plugging in the appropriate INFO dash switch into the prewired gang clip stored behind the blank switch plate to the right of the steering wheel? I've noticed that the display panel itself shows background shadows of the enhanced info display. Same cheap "diy" procedure worked with my V70 AWD when installing OEM fog lamps using the prewired setup found behind another blank cover to the left of the steering wheel. Thanks
