Made it to CA :)

Well we made the drive in the S70 from Ontario to California (again) and we were lucky that we had the thaw - the roads were clear and bare the entire way except 2 hours of slush and ice in the high elevations through Wyoming... we made great time and the car did it's job as usual. Glad we didn't go the uHaul trailer route, though - there were very high winds (50+mph) through most of the midwest and some areas said light trailers not advised.

We didn't buy snow chains - they are hard to find in Canada as they are illegal on roads, Canadian Tire sells them for trucks but not in our size... but luckily there was no snow on the roads through the mountains. In fact the mountains wre easier than Wyoming with the slush and wind! We were originally planning to stop in Reno the last night but the forcast said Saturday AM snow so we pushed on through the mountains and we were glad we did.

The ipod hookup with audiobooks are a godsend on these long trips!
