1998 V70 DRIVER DOOR LOCK help V70-XC70 1998

Hi brick owners,

Need help. Today the driver door lock acted up. It is difficult to rotate the cylinder to open the lock. As it turned out, the "rod" (the little thing that goes up and down when lock and unlock) is visibly leaning backward.

I suspect the rod assembly came loose (screws loosend). When looking from outside, the rod is leaning backward about 15 degrees (like the Pisa tower in Italy).

Anyone experienced this problem before?
Procedure to remove door panel would be useful, please help.
