Tranny gone 850

Had the tranny go last year on my 93 at 289k miles.

For me worth the replacement, $1300 a little less then yours.

My logic -

1 - A replacement would probably cost much more then that and I've had it long enough to know rest of the car in good shape. Even a great deal used car would probably need that much to get up to par.

2 - Just spent $800 for 'consumables' tires, brakes, tune up, etc

3 - I like the car

4 - Darn thing gets 29 MPG, better then my '86 Chevy Nova and a lot safer.

Of course something to be said for getting a 2002. Tranny failing good excuse if that's what you really want to do. Doubt you'll get the money back on trade in or resale. The '93 may have a Kelly Blue Book value but in practice I don't thing much demand.

So really depends on what in your heart you want.
