P1081/Immobilier proble, posible P1032 ETM failure S70 1999

Hi,

I have a non-turbo '99 S70, which will not start. The engine clearly cranks, occassionally seems to hit, but generally will not fire; I read the codes and found a P1081 and a P1032.

From alldata, I understand that P1081 is an immobilizer problem, and P1032, is the dreaded ETM failure I've been expecting for 5 years now :). I went by my local, friendly independent brick shop, and the gentleman suggested I attack the immobilizer problem first (makes good sense).

Aside from looking at the immobilizer wiring harness pins (per the TSB), can anyone suggest how I might troubleshoot this problem? Does anyone have a procedure to bypass the immobilizer, so I can troubleshoot the possible ETM problem?

Thanks
Mike
