Wheels swap, 940 to 850...help.

Hi there,
I recently decided to swap my 16 inch pirelli 205's from my 91 940 turbo wagon to my 97 850 glt wagon. I'm having some issues, and before I swap back, I was wondering what your thoughts are. I get more road noise (quiet a bit) and wobble than before, and on a tight corner I get rubbing. Going from what I believe is a 15 to a 16 doesn't seem like it should be that big of a deal. The tires stick out in the front a bit, but not so much that it is really obvious (I bet this accounts for the road noise). They seem to have enough clearance, but obviously not. What is the max size for an 850? Am I doing any permanent damage to my vehicle in having them on?
