Service Reminder Light S40-V40 2001

I had the same Service Light Reminder issue for the past 2 days and I've been trying to turn it off.

I tried many variations
a) hold trip, start car, release button during blinking
b) hold trip, start car, release button after blinking, and
c) hold trip, do not start car, release button after blinking BUT
I did not try what you said in the earlier thread:
d) hold trip, do not start car, release button while blinking

I will let you know if that worked
