Flame traps.... 850

LOL
The ECU on a 164 with Djet is the computer that regulates the fuel injection. This car only has one computer, isn't that nice, and all it does is fuel management! But after 30 years, the insulation on the individual wires are getting brittle so they cannot be stressed or bent with out breaking. The original wires were all coded with numbers, all are the same color, and the covers of the connectors are all splitting and cracked.
I would buy a new harness, but I am afraid that they aren't made any more. Forget about finding replacement parts in a junkyard, they will be just as bad as what I have now. Besides, they only made this harness for a couple of years, unlike the 240 which lasted for 10+ years.
Having a 30 year old car is fun,

Klaus
