They're check valves and they get clogged. I even have a spare set of all 3 in my box o' parts in the car.

It's kinda interesting, I did buy the spares because I was warned about the thingamajigs here on Brickboard. I guess people kinda drift into Volvodom and then drift out to Bimmerhood and Lexusland and so the information isn't carried over. Anyway, my car turns 10 in October, 2007, so then it will be my turn to drift out.
