extended warranty

Hi all
I have a 2000v70xc with about 84,000 miles on it. At about 25,000 miles I had the throttle body cleaned for about $300. It had to be replaced for about $1,000 at 50,000 miles (just out of warranty and volvo would do nothing for me at the time). I had it cleaned again for about $300 at 75,000 miles. This is ludicrous in my opinion. It is my only real complaint with the car however. I have heard that Volvo has an extended warranty for the problem. Volvo Canada has yet to send out notification to owners. So my questions:
1 Has anyone in Canada or th US received official notification from Volvo?
2 What costs are they covering?
3 Are they covering the cleanings as well?
4 I feel they should as I have never heard of another car that requires such a service. Any comments?
5 Do the replacements last any better than the originals?
6 Should I be looking at a further replacement at 100,000 miles?
For interest, I live in Toronto and do mainly highway driving except in the winter when it is short trips around town. Thanks for any light which can be shed.
