Confused about OBDII codes. 850 1995

There are several codes for specific problems with the oxygen sensor (this is in addition to the suggestions on the other reply). If your car is a 1995 you can use the built-in reader to reveal which ones. Details about reading codes and a list of them can be found on volvospeed.com Bay13.

One code for the oxygen sensor is for slow response - I got this repeatedly. It returned each time a couple of weeks or months after clearing the code. Replacing the oxygen sensor cured it. There were no performance symptoms.

A small vacuum leak can also trigger a persistently returning code, again without obvious symptoms.
