The car may have come with a SC-816, but that the one in the car now is not necessarily the same one that came with the new car. The radios in my V70 and previous S70 both had problems while under warranty. Volvo just put in a rebuilt one both times, which of course had different codes. I was told they could get a PIN for yours based on the numbers on the unit, though I have never had to try that.
