Bilstein TC struts V70-XC70 1998

They are for shipping only. Toss them. The stuts wouldn't work even if you could mount them with that wire in place as they could compress a little but not rebound. Nor would they be long enough to go through the shock mount.

Additionally, even though my thoughts go against many on this forum, the spring seats and strut mounts do not need to be replaced unless they are worn. I have talked to several independent shops and the volvo dealer. They reuse everything, even the bolts, unless they are bad. I am in agreement that if it aint broke don't fix it. Just intalled the rear tc's on my car and the rear seats had NO wear whatsover after 77k. They looked brand new. If my fronts need replacement I of course will do so.

Many install heavy duty bilsteins. I can see why the seats and mounts would wear quickly afterwards as there is much more stress put on them than with softer OEM or equalivent.

My 2 cents.

Gene
