Thanks. Yes, I'm familiar with vexedvolvo and learned from it how the ETM works. Yes, it sounds like just a delaying tactic. I've been a satisfied Volvo man for 40 years (my previous was a 1987 240 I had had for nearly 20 years--should have kept it!) and that's why I didn't bother to do my homework--I trusted them. Live and learn.
