turbo upgrades 850

Hello fellow enthusiasts!
I currently own 2 850's. My wifes car is a 94 Turbo wagon (225 hp) grocery getter, and I love the performance. I recently purchased a 96 Turbo wagon (190 hp?), but am not so enthused with the performance. I would like to know what mods are possible. I would like to replace the turbo with a larger turbo and upgrade the ECM to allow higher boost levels and enhanced perormance. IPD said this was not possible due to ECM commnication problems. Is it as simple as swapping in a T-5 turbocharger and ECM to gain the performance I want? What is the limiting factor in the performance:injector size, turbocharger size, MAF, ECM programming, fuel delivery? What about a larger turocharger and a boost controller? My newer 850 is black on black, very nice, and I really don't want to sell it and have to find a real T-5 as nice to get the performance. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
