10w30 is the normal Volvo recommendation, except for winter time use in cold climate when 5W30 may be used (for easier cold starting). However, it doesn't make much difference if you're using Mobil 1.
A normal oil change service includes checking all fluid levels, checking for leaks (e.g. coolant indicating water pump or radiator problems), belt(s), hoses, tire pressure, tires for cuts or other damage, checking lights, checking the air filter and replacing if needed, lubricating door hinges, and a general underbody check for broken or loose exhaust hangers and suspension components. A service shop should also check wipers and recommend replacement if needed. A service shop may also pull the wheels off to check the brakes, and to advise if replacement will be needed. Tire rotation may also be done if needed.
However, if you are simply doing an "in-between" oil change because you feel that Volvo's oil change interval is too long, you could let your service shop do all the inspections at the recommended intervals.
