why do my brakes rub? S70 1998

I need to second MIJs suggestion. Did you notice the condition of the piston before you pushed it in? It is full of road grime and other junk that could use an emory cloth to remove - before you push the piston back in. Greasing it and the rubber seal is good practice after polishing all of the dirt off.
What ever you do, do not take the brake pads off and then push on the brake pedal! That will over extend the piston and you will have severe problems. Better to put the old pads on and remounting the caliper, then push the brake pedal to get back to the old position to clean it up.
