Rear window switches C70

I own a '01 C70 and am having a problem with the up/down switches for the rear windows. The switches for the rear windows on the driver's door work just fine.
The switches (both) mounted in the rear console don't work at all. Is their a rear window lock mechanism that stops the rear windows from operating on a convertible just like the lock out feature for the rears on some Volvo sedans?
If so, how is this feature deactivated to allow the rear switches to operate the rear windows? Thanks, Fred.
