AC problem - Hot/Cold air coming out on different vents on the same time

I think you're probably right about the problem - they're usually called "damper motors" and there are five of them altogether. There are two on the driver's side, sort of where your right knee is when you drive. You can get to them by removing the trim under the driver's dash and the plastic panel on the side of the center instrument panel. Similarly for three motors on the passenger side, but you have to remove the glovebox too and the three motors are sort of scattered about.

Get a Haynes manual, the damper motor system is kind of complicated, if you put in a new one you have to program your ECU to know where the ends of the motor's range are.
