. Engine does not crank, does not start 850 1984

1984!, you win the prize for oldest 850 that's for sure. The schematic shows a green/red wire going from the ignition contact plate through alarm relay 2/28, through the gear position sensor where it changes to solid green and then on to terminal 50 on the starter. I would start all the way at the end of that circuit at the starter, have some one twist the key while you hold a test light to the green wire and see what it does and then chase it backwards from there. You can tap into the remote starter lead too, it is located with the data link connector under the hood. Hook in there and you won't have to have another person to twist the key for you. Good luck and let us know what you find, or don't find as it may be.
