The humming noise is probably bad front bearings. Sometimes you can feel it in the throtle, with slippers on. If it is you can tell which side it's on by noting how the pitch changes when turning. I use a stethescope (automotive type) to listen to them when it is on jack stands.
I just replaced the right one on my 96.
The pulsing brake is most likely bad rear rotors. The sevarity changes with the weather, speed, temperature, humidity, amount of pressure applied, number of persons in the car, etc. Rplace the rotors. Easy job.
Front bearing hub replacement is a little tougher.
