Get the codes read. If it is really hot out (80F plus) it should not cycle much. But if you just start the car and look at it, it will cycle every 5 seconds. Add one can of r134a if it doesn't cool down while you have it running at 2000rpm. The vents should be at least 20 degrees colder than ambient at 75 degrees outside.
