1996 850R Radio/CD player problem 850

I have a 1996 850R. The radio and CD player keeps skipping or stopping during during songs. Sometimes it stops when the car goes over a real rough spot or bump in the road. It always starts playing again, but you never know when it is going to stop. Strangely enough, when I first get in the car and turn either on, it plays for about 15 minutes without stopping. It almost seems like a wire is loose somewhere. Has anyone ever had this problem with their Volvo? Any solutions other than taking it back to a Volvo Dealer? Thanks for any help.
