Because of the way this car is put together, the easiest way is to pull the engine and tranny as one unit. You can't drop the oil pan without taking out the subframe.
It might be a blessing, the rear main seal replacement calls for the same procedure, so do it while the engine is out.
MIJ doesn't know that you live in the southwest :)
