Opinion on different models S70

I would also go for the S70, a far better car than the others you mentioned. I disagree that the 1998 is more trouble free. The main reliability problem on the 99-00's is the ETM, but that is now covered by a 10 year 200,000 mile warranty. The 99 has a slightly improved suspension and better side air bags (protect the side of your head, whereas the 98's side air bag only comes up to the shoulder). And the SIPS allows more time for the side airbags to deploy. Also, there are less squeaks and the like on the 99-00's. The 98 is still a great car and worth it if you get a better deal. The T5 is very fast, but we have the low pressure turbo and are very satisfied. The ride on the T5 is also rougher, so it depends what you want.
