850 engine noise-update 850

There's guite a few folks over on VolvoSpeed that have done the O ring repair on 94-97 850s with good results. Your tech says it only works on 99 and newer if I read that correctly. Your symptoms of "ticking" AFTER warm up and then guieting down with an increase in RPMs sounds like a classic case of the O rings needing to be changed. I would look further before doing the lifter job and I have to wonder too if changing oil weight will really help you. On the other hand if your o Rings are just sludged up then you might want to look into or consider ARX.
