More on the cabin filter, size & shape confusion. 850 1997

I falsely assumed that the 97 850 GLT cabin filter would be identical to the 98 v70 cabin filter. Contrary to that assumption, the tray for the 850 filter that I have is oval-like, while the tray in the V70 is rectangular. At Autozone, the counter workers only come up with rectangular filters. Am I missing something, or asking for the wrong part? Any advice or explanation?
