I just mangaed to remove the secondary air pump which I believed to be whining like a vacuume cleaner after startup and sometimes at stoplights once in a while.
After removing it, I added power to it, and to my surprise it was very quite only getting a little louder when spooling down. But nothing like the embarrising noise from the car when it is on the car and driven.
I'm pretty sure I recall there being about three components to this little system: air pump, some type of valve, and relay.
If the air pump sounds pretty good off the car, and it IS working, with nothing hooked to the hose connections, I'm thinking it may be some sort of valve.
I have not had any codes that I know of and usuaully only have a service light come on about oil change time.
If the air pump blows enough air to blow my hair, and it seems to come on at the correct times, what could this be? Some stopage? Is there some sort of control valve and it be the culprit? If it is, any part names and part numbers and where to get it the cheapest and quickest?
Thanks in advance yall!!
