Wheel bearing 1998 V70XC V70-XC70

My daughter recently bought a used 1998 V70XC which now has 105,000 miles on it and has a very noisy right front wheel bearing that needs to be replaced. After looking through the paperwork from the previous owner, I noticed that front wheel bearing were replaced 3 previous times.
The first time a right front wheel-hub bearing assy was replaced at 41,000 miles 10/2001. The next time bearings were replaced was 07/2002 and 04/2005, however, on the repair order, there is no indication of mileage and if it was the left front or right front.
The other previous Volvo's in the family, (too many to mention 140's / 240's and 2 850's) some with over 200,000 miles never had a wheel bearing problem.
Are front wheel bearings a common problem with the V70 XC ?
Have other had the same problem ? Thanks Fred
