temperature control amber lights flash for 30secs

I have '95 850 turbo which has automatic temperature settings. When I turn on the car, occasionally the recirc and a/c off amber lights will flash for about 30 secs and then they stop stop flashing and turn off. The unit is operating fine, and the a/c and heat work well. So, the question is, what is the significance of these flashing lights, and do I need to do something to correct the flashing effect.

The flashing so far is nothing more than annoying... but I want to make sure there is not a larger problem lurking. Note: I recently added freon to the a/c system since it was blowing warm air, and now the system blows cold. The flashing occurred prior to adding the freon, and still occurs after adding the freon.
