1995 850 Rear Brake Shims 850

I bought OEM (Dan-Block) rear brake pads and i was wondering the the 1995 850 GLT use brake shims. My haynes manual says to replace the shims (if you have them). Does anyone know for sure if the 850 uses brake shims. And if they don't, would it be a good idea to put them on.

I am planning on replacing the read brakes and rotors as soon as the rotors come in. i bought the zimmerman rotors.
