Unusual smoke from exhaust V70-XC70

While following wife driving our '98 V70/T5 I noticed a small puff of white smoke from the exhaust when she stepped on the gas pretty hard to get into traffic. We have had this car since new and it has had a very careful service history. The one problem that I think about is that this car is rarly driven on the highway since it has been passed down to be her daily driver. Could this just be that it needs to be "blown" out a little? It only has about 78k miles and has always had regular Mobil-1 synthetic oil and quality filter changes. Maybe I should pull a compression test this weekend just to be sure everything is sound inside? Any other common causes for small white exhaust smoke in this year/model? Thanks, Ken
