sunroof not working/ power door locks not working V70-XC70 2001

The switch is on the roof panel between the courtesy lights, the door loocks starting working today. I talked top a volvo indi and he said the control module is probably going out. He can replace but it may need new software to make it work, maybe not. He said it depends on the vin and options on the car? i just hope they keep working!
