Oil Filter 850

This is true. Volvo oil filters are manufactured by Mann-Hummel. I dont know the actual technical term but they do have a valve that prevents the oil from draining back into the filter when the engine is switched off. This keeps the oil in the upper cylinder & valve area where its needed upon start-up. You can order a pack of 10 from fcpgroton.com for about $35.00. Theyre the exact same as the filters the dealer will sell you except they have the green "MANN" logo as opposed to the blue "VOLVO" logo. They also have the aluminum crush washers for your drain plug for like 10 cents each.
