same thing happened to me. you need to replace it. if you don't mind not having the lighted mirror, you can get the regular visor for around $30 (call the guy at Volvo Houston - cheaper than most other dealers). just unscrew it at the base, cut the wire from the old visor, and screw in the new one. good luck.
