Is the a/c producing enough cold air inside the car? If so nothing is wrong. System will normally cycle on cooler days when there is not much demand. My Volvo and Ford both do this. If you are not getting enough cold air for your comfort, for instance on a hot day, and the compressor is still cycling on and off, you are probably undercharged, though other things can be wrong.
