V70 steering rack replacement V70-XC70 1998

I have to do this job tomorrow...again, for the second time....why? well....all steering racks on Volvos with power steering fail because they have no filtration to stop all the metal particles swimming about and damaging the rack bores and seals. You will have to replace your rack if it is leaking, don't just fit new seals as this only lasts a few months and it's leaking again in a short space of time. What you have to do after the new rack is on is to fit an in-line filter They are available here:-http://www.emergingent.com/subpage1Magnefine.htm

..or do a search for Magnefine.

Ten minute job to fit and it claims to filter out 99.997% of contaminants. This will extend the life of your rack OR gearbox by 7 times. See my other post on the subject.

While your at it fit a Magnetic filter on your engine oil using the Magnefield system. Takes 5 minutes to install.
