Rear main seal advice 850

I just learned that my '96 850 has a leaking rear main seal that will require 10hrs of labor and will total about $850.00. I have typically done all of my own maint and repair to 240's and 740's and am wondering how hard it would be to replace the rear main seal on an 850.

I bought the car used and have not cleaned the breather and am wondering that if it is stopped up and if I cleaned it would that help to remedy the situation?

So have any of you done this job? Please let me know how it is done.

Josh
