I just traded in my '04 Acura on an '06 Accord for my kid and was pleased by the KBB accuracy. Tho I suspect that most owners probably overestimate their vehicle condition by at least one class.

I wouldn't take an S80 as a gift so it's not personally relevant. But the Toyota dealer may not know about S80s and use the KBB guideline. If you scroll down someone traded his S80 on a Prius and received much more than the Volvo dealer offered. The Toyota dealer will probably just auction it off anyway.
