Need some help getting my car running back to normal....... 850 1994

That's the service department trying to sell you a new car. They give you this outrageous bill and hope you'll just walk over and trade the car in on one of the dealer's new (or newer...) cars on the lot. Otherwise they would've been honest about it and just slapped a new induction tube on it to get it running right for you and you woulda left happy (for less than $200 total bill...).

Put the new induction tube on and most of your problems will go away. If they say you need a new induction tube they probably see a crack in it that's allowing unmetered air to flow into the throttle body. That tube has to be leak free, and all air passing through it has to go through the mass airflow sensor there at the air filter box. The mass airflow sensor tells the ECU how much air is entering the motor and the ECU calculates how much fuel the engine will need through the injectors to give it a perfect fuel/air ratio.

I wouldn't go back to that dealership even for a brochure.
